The Jewish Federations of Southern Illinois, Southeast Missouri and Western Kentucky represents and supports about 1000 Jews in five different Jewish communities Throughout Southern Illinois. We cover a distance in excess of 40,000 square miles.
- Protecting and enhancing the well-being of Jews and Jewish communities in Southern Illinois, Israel and around the world.
- Leading a bold continental Federations collective to mobilize financial and social resources through its philanthropic endeavors, strategic initiatives and international agencies to strengthen the Jewish people.
- Taking responsibility for each other according to the principles of chesed (caring and compassion),Torah (Jewish learning), tikkun olam (repairing the world) and tzedakah (social justice).
Your generous donations will help fund the Organizations that the Jewish Federation of Southern Illinois will assist on a yearly basis. Some of the programs are; the Shlichim (Israeli Emissary), Camp Ben Frankel, The Jewish Federations of North America, Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life, Teaching of Jewish Prisoners in Centralia, Jewish Community News/ SIMOKY Federation Website, and Birthright Israel. The Federation also contributes to a number of Social Services such as; the Good Samaritan Ministries, Jewish Family and Children Services, Community Interfaith Food Pantry, The Lighthouse Shelter, Benton-West Ministerial Alliance and the Paducah Cooperative Ministry.
You know us. You have supported the The Federation over the years because you know how important our work is – not just what we do but how we do it. Now more than ever the Southern Illinois Jewish community must work in coalition with others to accomplish what is best for our Jewish community and for America.
